Probably the world’s most expensive peanut butter and jelly sandwich (PB&J) is on the menu at Chicago’s West Loop restaurant, “Pizza Beer and Jukebox”.
Selling for $350, the “Golden Goose” must be ordered one day in advance and according to the menu, features:
“Maison Dutriez’s Red Currant Jam, The World’s Most Expensive Jelly, which Is hand seeded using Goose Quills, Adams All Natural Peanut Butter, Toasted Edible Gold Leaf Bread, Drizzle of New Zealand Manuka Honey“
Restaurant owner, Matthew McCahill said “The inspiration actually comes from when I was a child and we grew up very poor and we were eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and then just peanut butter sandwiches, and then just peanut butter,” said Matthew, noting the irony of his idea for the menu item. “As I researched to find who had the most expensive PB&J, there was a restaurant in California that is now closed and has been for years and all they did was take a gold toothpick.”
