A trading card (or collectible card) is a small card, similar to a credit card size, that can be made from cardboard or thick paper. It usually has an image of a particular person, place or thing (fictional or real) along with a description and other text (for example statistics or trivia). But what makes it expensive? or even, the Most Expensive Baseball Card?
Most Expensive Baseball Card
On August 23rd 2020, Goldin Auctions from New Jersey, USA sold the most expensive Trading card ever for $3.93 million, and it’s a Baseball Rookie Card.
The signed card features Mike Trout, the eight-time MLB All-Star, three-time American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP). According to Goldin Auctions, the 2009 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Superfactor card has a serial number stating that the card is 1/1.
It sold for a record-setting $3.93 million. This eclipsed the previous most expensive card, the T206 Honus Wagner, that sold for $3.12 million in September 2016.
The card’s previous owner was renowned collector and sports gambler ‘Vegas Dave’, who bought it for only $400k USD on eBay in 2018.
